Air Costa is an Indian regional airline based in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh. Its flight operations started in October 2013, using two Embraer E-170 aircraft leased from ECC. The number of aircrafts are estimated to increase to 25 by the end of 2018. It received its Air Operators’ Permit (AOP) from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) in September 2013 and thereafter announced its operations to Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Jaipur and Vijayawada.
Passengers may carry a maximum of one piece of hand baggage including laptop or ladies’ hand bags, of weight not exceeding 7 kg and not exceeding the following measurements in size: Length – 55 cm, Width – 25 cm, Height – 35 cm. Air Costa allows free check-in baggage up to 20 kg per adult and child in Economy Class and up to 30 kg per adult and child in Economy Plus (any passenger above 2 years of age). The dimensions of the check-in baggage should not exceed 115 cm (45 in) in overall dimensions (Length + Width + Height). A flat rate of Rs. 250 per kg or part thereof per sector would be charged towards excess baggage. Check-in baggage must have the passenger's name or other personal identification affixed to it. Air Costa reserves the right to refuse carriage of such baggage or such items found in the baggage as stated below.
The items which cannot be carries in the aircrafts are:
1. Compressed gases (deeply refrigerated, flammable, non-flammable and poisonous) such as butane, oxygen, liquid nitrogen, aqualung cylinders and compressed gas cylinders.
2. Radioactive materials
3. Poisons and infectious substances.
4. Briefcases with attached and installed alarm devices.
5. Explosive and Fireworks.
6. Arms, lighters, scissors and fire-lighters, lighters are not permitted to carry in the cabin baggage.
The total fleet size of Air Costa Airline is 371. It operates with a pair of Embraer E-170 jets leased from ECC. In the last of 2013 E- 190, five E-170s and E-190s will be added to its fleet size. There is a plan to add 10 aircrafts by 2014 and 25 aircrafts at the end of 2018.
The check-in process starts 120 minutes before departure of flights. The check in counters are closed 45 minutes before departure of flights, hence you should arrive at the airport before 2 hours before flight departure. Passengers who travel without valid Photo - ID's will not be allowed to check-in.
