Day 1 Arrival in Delhi
Begin the Classical Golden Triangle tour by arriving in Delhi. Meet on arrival and transfer to the hotel. Enjoy an overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 2 Delhi sightseeing
Wake up refreshed to a warm morning breakfast at the hotel and next enjoy a full day city tour of Old and New Delhi. First visit the India Gate, a war memorial built between the years of 1921-1931 to honor the 82.000 soldiers that lost their lives during the First World War. Next, drive pass the Parliament House and President’s House and later visit the Qutub Minar.
Qutub Minar is the tallest stone tower and the second tallest minar in India, reaching a height of 74 metres. The foundation of the tower was laid down around 1200 CE by Qutub-ud-Din Aibak and the tower is today a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Later, visit Jama Masjid – the largest mosque in India. Built by the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan in 1644-1656, an impressively grand architectural experience. Lastly, visit Raj Ghat, a memorial to honor Mahatma Gandhi marking his cremation site.
Enjoy a good night’s rest at the hotel and prepare for tomorrow’s journey to Agra.
Day 3 Agra journey
The Taj Mahal
Today starts with a filling breakfast and then a car ride towards Agra. On arrival check in to the hotel. At noon, visit the stunning Taj Mahal, a love story in itself, and something to remember for a lifetime. The Taj Mahal was built by the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his wife Mumtaz Mahal. The construction of the Taj Mahal was finished in 1643 and today both Shah Jahan and his wife are laid to rest under this mausoleum.
After visiting the Taj Mahal, continue on to visit the Agra Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site which can be described as a walled city, built in 1566 by the Mughals.
Later, get back to the hotel and enjoy a good night’s sleep.
Day 4 The Pink City awaits
Get refreshed and energized with a hearty morning breakfast and then head off to Jaipur. The drive will take around 5 hours and en-route will be the opportunity to visit Fatehpur Sikri, a UNESCO World Heritage Site built in 1569 by Mughal emperor Akbar. It was the old capital of the Mughal. 15 years after its founding, it had to be abandoned due to scarcity of water. Later arrive in Jaipur and check in to a hotel. Enjoy a peaceful overnight stay.
Day 5 Jaipur attractions
Begin this lovely morning with a warm breakfast at the hotel. Next up enjoy a trip to the Amber Fort, a listed UNESCO World Heritage Site, along with five other forts of Rajasthan. Amber used to be the ancient capital of the state and is now an abandoned fort complex on a high hilltop, a favorite among tourists. The complex contains many palaces, halls, and temples: an explorer's delight.
After the Amber Fort, continue on to a city tour of Jaipur with a visit to the City Palace, Museum, the Jantar Mantar observatory, Hawa Mahal, and some of the colorful bazaars. Enjoy a dinner later and then an overnight stay back at the hotel.
Day 6 Departure day
Get re-energized with a warm morning breakfast and later enjoy a relaxing drive to Delhi, taking about 5 hours. In Delhi, transfer to the airport and connect to flight for onward destination.
