The Forts and Temples of India is a tour made to give you the chance to closely explore and enjoy stunning and impressive architectural structures in India. In this tour, some of the most famous forts and temples are included such as the stunning Red Fort in Delhi, the breathtaking Mandawa Fort in Mandawa as well as the fort of Jaisalmer which covers the whole of Jaisalmer city.
Day 1 Arrival in Delhi
The Forts and Temples of India Tour begins by arriving in Delhi. On arrival, meet with a representative and get transferred to a hotel to check in. Rest of the day enjoy at own leisure to explore the city and prepare for tomorrow's journey to begin. Enjoy an overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 2 The Delhi Experience
Laxmi Narayan Temple
Begin this first official day of the tour with a tasty breakfast at the hotel and then get ready for a full-day city tour of Old and New Delhi. Start with a visit to the famous Laxminarayan Temple, a Hindu temple built in 1939 and dedicated to the God Vishnu.
Continue on to make a visit to the important war memorial monument: India Gate. Built in 1921, it is a dedication to the 82.000 soldiers that lost their lives during the First World War. Along Rajpath, meaning “King’s Way”, there will also be a visit to “Rashtrapati Bhavan”, the Parliament House, which is the official home of the president of India.
Further on there will be a visit to the beautiful Lotus Temple, an impressive architectural structure which is in the shape of a Lotus-flower and is a Bahá’í House of Worship. Also visit the Qutub Minar, the second tallest minar in India with 74 meters and listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Continue on to Jama Masjid, the largest mosque in India and built by the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan in the years of 1644-1656. Another impressive structure which will be visited today is the Red Fort, also constructed by Shah Jahan in 1648, it was the home of Mughal emperors for almost 200 years. Lastly, make a visit to the important Raj Ghat memorial site, which is a memorial in honor of Mahatma Gandhi.
Later in the evening, head back to the hotel for a well-needed rest after this eventful day.
Day 3 Mandawa Forts
Get refreshed with a filling breakfast at the hotel and then leave for the next destination of this tour: Mandawa, located in the state of Rajasthan. On arrival, get checked in to a hotel and later enjoy a city tour of Mandawa. Get the chance to visit to an ancient fort that today has been converted into a beautiful hotels the Mandawa Fort. The Mandawa fort was built by Thakur Nawal Singh in 1755. He was the ruler of Rajput and built the fort in order to protect himself and his troops. Later, enjoy a visit to numerous Havelis, known as a structure of historical or architectural significance. In Mandawa, these havelis are represented by fresco paintings on walls.
To regain all energy later, enjoy an overnight stay back at the hotel.
Day 4 Exploring Bikaner
This morning begins with a flavorful breakfast at the hotel, get then ready to travel on to the historical city Bikaner. On arrival, check in to a hotel and get comfortable. Next, enjoy a city tour with a visit to the stunning Junagarh Fort. Its construction began in 1594 by the Mughal army general, Raja Rai Singh. Today it is a result of sixteen generation’s work, all rulers of Bikaner. Enjoy the impressive structure of the fort itself, but also the other areas within the fort such as temples, gardens, shrines, wells and stables. Next visit the famous Deshnok Temple, also known as Karni Mata Temple, “the Temple of Rats”. This temple is dedicated to the sage Karni Mata and is famous due to the 20.000 rats living being revered in the temple.
Later visit the National Research Centre on Camel, a popular tourist attraction where camels can be seen through a safari ride. Then head back to the hotel and enjoy a good night’s rest.
Day 5 Jaisalmer journey
Forts and Havelis of Jaisalmer
Revive the energy with a healthy breakfast and prepare for a journey to the next destination of this tour: Jaisalmer. This city is known as “The Golden City” and is located in the heart of the Thar Desert. On arrival, check in to a hotel and enjoy the evening at own leisure to explore the different parts of the city and then get a good night’s sleep at the hotel.
Day 6 Sights of Jaisalmer
Sonar Kila – the Golden Fort
Begin this lovely morning with an energizing breakfast at the hotel and then enjoy a full-day tour of Jaisalmer. Begin with a visit to one of the biggest fort complexes in the world, the Jaisalmer Fort, also known as the Golden Fort. Built in 1156 by Rawal Jaisal, a Rajput ruler, it is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site along with five other forts in the Rajasthan state.
Continue on to visit other popular attractions such as Salim Singh Ki Haveli, Manak Chowk, Patwon Ki Haveli, Nathmaji Ki Haveli, Gadisar Lake, Jain Temples and the Gyan Bhandar Library.
In the evening, enjoy a visit to the sand dunes to experience a sunset briefly on a camel ride. Then head back to the hotel to get a good night’s rest.
Day 7 Jodhpur awaits
Enjoy the start of this day with an appetizing breakfast at the hotel and then travel on to the next destination of this tour: Jodhpur. Known as the Blue City, this beautiful city consists of many stunning palaces and forts, such as the incredible Mehrangarh Fort. After arriving in Jodhpur, check in to a hotel and enjoy this evening at own leisure to explore the city.
Day 8 Mandore excursion
Today will begin with a filling breakfast at the hotel followed by a journey to the ancient town of Mandore which lies just 9 km north of Jodhpur. Here get the chance to explore some of the bustling and energetic streets as well as trying out some bargaining skills at the different colorful bazaars. In the afternoon, drive back to Jodhpur to visit the famous Mehrangarh Fort and Jaswant Thada.
The Mehrangarh Fort was built around 1460 by Rao Jodha and is one of the largest forts in India. Inside, enjoy the many ancient artistic creations such as sculptures and art pieces, as well as experiencing the history of battles which have occurred within and outside of these fort walls.
Jaswant Thada is a cenotaph, meaning an empty tomb to honor someone whose remains are somewhere else, and it was built by the Maharaja Sardar Singh in 1899 in memory of his father. It is the burial ground for the rulers of Marwar.
After this eventful day, head back to the hotel and enjoy an overnight stay.
Day 9 Udaipur awaits
Temples of Ranakpur
Start the day off with enjoying a warm hotel breakfast and then travelling on to the next destination of this tour, Udaipur. Along the way, get a chance to visit the Jain temple which is considered the most beautiful one. It is dedicated to Adinatha, a Tirthankara meaning someone who is believed to have reached samsara and created a path for others to follow).
Continue on to Udaipur, also known as the “City of Dreams” or “Venice of the East”. On arrival, check in to a hotel and enjoy the rest of the evening freely to embrace the breathtaking scenery of nature, lakes and mountains. Get a good night’s rest to prepare for tomorrow’s exploring of Udaipur.
Day 10 Exploring Udaipur
Get reenergized with a tasty morning breakfast at the hotel followed by an exciting city tour of Udaipur where there will be the chance to visit all the main attraction which Udaipur has to offer. Begin with a visit to the beautiful City Palace and Museum, Sahelion-ki-Bari and Lake Palace. Continue on with enjoying the Jaisamand Lake, Fatehsagar Lake, Gulab Bagh and Jag Mandir. The Jag Mandir is a palace which was constructed between the years of 1551-1652 by three Maharanas of the Mewar Kingdom. It is built on an island in the beautiful Lake Pichola and this is where the royal family used to spend their summers. Get the chance to enjoy a cozy boat ride on the lake while enjoying the peaceful scenery. Later on, drive back to the hotel and enjoy an overnight stay.
Day 11 Bundi trip
Begin this morning with a refreshing breakfast at the hotel and then continue the journey of this tour to the city of Bundi. Day 12 Bundi tour- Jaipur awaits
Get refreshed with a filling morning breakfast at the hotel and then enjoy a city tour of Bundi. The first visit will be made to the famous Taragarh Fort, also known as the “Star Fort” and was constructed in 1354 on a steep mountain hill. Continue on with a visit to The Palace and Chitrashala. The Bundi Palace is located near the Taragarh Fort on a hill as is known for its traditional murals and frescoes. Inside the Palace is the Chitrashala Art Gallery which will be enjoyed next.
After enjoying these sights of Bundi, continue this journey to the Pink City, Jaipur. On arrival, check in to a hotel and relax, get a good night’s rest and prepare for tomorrow’s adventures.
Day 13 Jaipur attractions
Start this beautiful day in Jaipur with a warm morning breakfast at the hotel and then a tour of the famous Amber Fort. Located high up on a hill, an exciting elephant ride will be enjoyed to reach the top. Inside the fort complex, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, enjoy the different temples, palaces and halls.
Continue the day with a visit to the stunning City Palace and Museum as well as a visit to the Jantar Mantar Observatory. This observatory consists of nineteen different astronomical instruments completed in 1738 by Sawai Jai Singh, the Rajput King. Today, this observatory is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the top attractions in Jaipur. It is also the world’s largest sundial.
Later visit the beautiful Hawa Mahal structure and nearby get the chance to enjoy the colorful bazaar experience with improving bargaining skills and the hunt for the best souvenirs to bring back home.

Day 14 Magical Agra
The Taj Mahal
Enjoy a tasty morning breakfast and today continue on to the city that tells the tale of love: Agra. Get the chance to visit the breathtaking Taj Mahal and enjoy the magical story of love where the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan built this monument in memory of his late wife Mumtaz Mahal.
Later, also get the chance to visit the impressive Agra Fort structure. Partially built by Shah Jahan, the Mughal emperor, it shows an incredible side of the Mughal architecture and the influences it brings to the sculptures, art pieces and design inside the fort.
Enjoy an overnight stay back at the hotel to let this journey sink in and prepare for tomorrow’s departure, with memories kept for life.
Day 15 Departure day
This last day of the tour begins with a healthy hotel breakfast. Afterwards, prepare to travel on to Delhi. On arrival, get transferred to the Delhi International airport and continue to onward destination.
